Now For The Final £SO
rpWO shillings more and wo would have acknowledged £4O this week. It was a splendid effort that brought our grand total to £552 3s 9?.d—• only £47 16s 2td and our £6OO will be reached. And then for celebrations! £ - Particular mention must be made of the Hikurangi Hapu’s effort. Last Tuesday we told of the very fine community sing concert they held last week, but today we know that their hard work was well rewarded and earned £l6 ICs towards the building of Tikipimga Orphanage, This has brought the Hikurangi Hapu’s total contributions to £23—adequate proof of the keenness and energy of these young Northlanders. At Te Rore Road, Takahue, there is every possibility of a Hapu being formed. Since our visit the boys and girls of the district have met again. They decided to live up to the club motto, and did their bit by sending 10/- to the fund. One final word must be said for Eob and Emily Grayson, of Umawera —though we’re giving them, a paragraph to themselves elsewhere—for their contribution of 10/6 acknowledg ed today, means that £6 Is has been collected by these two energetic and unselfish little people. Well ajid truly they have earned every hit of praise that has been given them. The Maunu Hall Committee’s don atiou, too, was a big lift this week.
