r Special to "Northern Advocate ” 3 AUCKLAND, This Day. Satisfaction with the veframing of the Act, which, after July 1. 1939, will guide the practice of surveying in New Zealand, was expressed in the annual report of the council at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Institute of Surveyors today. The president, Mr. G. K. Grierson, said the institute owed a debt of gratitude to Mr. H. E. Walshe. Sur-veyor-General, and his officers, for willing co-operation and wise guidance in the refraining of the Act. also to Mr. Langstone. for sponsoring the Act. which had removed anomalies that had existed from the inception of the institute.
The president added that during the year members had found that their professional services had been more fully in demand. Officers Elected
Officers were elected as follows: — Vice-president. Mr. M. CromptonSmith; councillors, Mr. H. L. P. Dyett and Mr. M. Gandar. Mr. Grierson continues as president for another year. Mr. H. E. Walshe was elected a Fellow of the Institute for distinguished services to the profession as Sur-veyor-General, and for his assistance to the institute in its efforts to maintain the status of the profession.
