The winners of the tennis club card evening held last week at Mrs Stewart’s home were Messrs Larcombe and Dyer. At the school 500 evening on Tuesday there was quite ,a good attendance. The prizes went to Mesdames H. Stewart and Alf Beasley. PersonalMr and Mrs H. E. Mason and family spent a few days in Onerahi as the guests of Mr Mason’s sister, Mrs B. Spratt. Accompanied by Miss Joan Spratt, they returned this week to their home at Waimamaku, where Miss Spratt intends staying for a short visit. Mrs J. M. Cartwright recently spent a fortnight in Auckland and Wellington. While in Wellington she attended the Women’s Institute Conference. Mr H. Curtis, Jnr., accompanied by Mr J. Connolly, recently toured the North Island as far south as Wellington. Messrs J. de Stigter and H. Orchiston are home on vacation from the Auckland University. Mr Gordon Mason, from Auckland Training College, is also home for the holidays. Mr and Mrs A. Huston and family, and Mr Huston Senr., have left the district to reside in Whangarei.
