Plane Damaged on Ninety Mile Beach

While landing at Ninety Mile Beach an aeroplane flown and owned by Mr. F. B. Cadman, of Auckland, struck a soft stretch of sand, and tilted forward on its. nose, breaking the propeller. Neither Mr. Cadman nor his passenger, Mr H. J. Butcher, of Auckland, was injured.
The mishap occurred after a flight from Auckland. A spare propeller was sent to Ninety Mile Beach, but, owing to the unfavourable weather, Mr. Cadman decided not to return by air. Messrs Cadman and Butcher are expected to return to Auckland today by motor car, and the aeroplane will be flown back later.
State miners on the West Coast decided to resume work tomorrow. It is understood that the dismissed trucker is also to resume on condition that the matter will be referred to the disputes committee. If the committee decides that the men are in the wrong, the trucker is to be dismissed.
