The death has occurred of Mr Jack McAneney, aged 76. Mr McAneney | spent his early years at Thames, | where he ultimately became a jockey, f He came to the Northern Wairoa in I 1879 and rode the first cup winner on T the old Mangawhare race course. • Later Mr McAneney established a | carrying business with packhorses at | Tangowahine.
