150 Visiting Schoolboys : Their Needs
So often nave young; :> ortnlanders helped other people, that now they have a chance to help themselves. In the first week of the August holidays, a team of representative schoolboy' footballers, coming from all parts of the Northland province, will he in Whangarei. Full arrangements have been made for their sleeping accommodation and the hoys will he fed at a Whangarei restaurant. Their food, however, must be supplied. Kupc knows that at least one Kupe Club member is numbered in the party, consequently when Mi- K. Hayr, president of the Whangarei Primary Schools Rugby Union, asked for help in obtaining the necessary food, it was agreed that young Northlanders should be told of the visit and asked to help. Meat, vegetables of all kinds, eggs, fruit, preserves (fruit, jams, etc.) and butter are needed. So far as the meat is concerned, it is advised that mutton, beef, pork, bacon, etc., are required, and, as they will be donated, need not be killed at the abattoirs. Cue hundred and fifty schoolboys will be in Whangarei for one week. Here’s a chance Northlanders. Ask Father and Mother if they’d like to help other young Northlanders enjoy their stay in Whangarei. Donations may be left at the Whangarei or the W'hau Valley School or at the office of Mr L. J. Brake, Bank Street.
