Wireless Road, K.D. 111, Kaitaia. Dear Kupe and Princess Raranga, I've just been reading about your trip up here. You must have had a jolly time, but I wish the weather had been a bit more welcoming. It was awful, wasn’t it? However, your royal coach —I mean Betty B. —looked nice and cosy. It was great seeing you both; I really didn’t think I’d get a chance to, but I’m so glad I did. Funny, you were exactly the opposite to what I thought you’d be like. At least, the Princess was much the same as I expected, but I said that you’d have fair, curly hair, Kupe, and brown eyes; oh yes, and a signet ring on your finger. I’m sure I was right as regards the ring, if not in anything else. Thr pictures were good, weren't they jut I’m afraid you’ll think us an awfully ungrateful lot. Everyone went off in such a hurry afterwards. However, I know they all enjoyed it; I did. anyway. There would have been about 30 to see you if it hadn’t been basketball day, and most of the older girls that I asked had to play basketball at Rawene that morning, so. of course, they couldn’t come.
