Lightning Havoc On Beach

(Received 8.30 a.m.) NEW YORK. August 7. A lightning bolt struck in the heart of the Ri'is Park beach, where 80,000 people were bathing, killing three and causing shock to 14 others. Three persons were killed in a similar way in the same spot and on the same day last year. The bolt struck a man on the head, killing him, then leapt into his wife’s body, causing a fatal shock, and then struck down a young couple. Next the flash struck near a family quintet, knocking them all unconscious, and after that it knocked two lifeguards from their chairs. Blue flame played along the beach, throwing to the ground all who were within 200 feet of it.
