Purua Coming-of-Age Dance
The Purua Hall was at its gayest on Friday of last week, when Mr and Mrs R. A. Drake, of Aponga, brought together a large number of friends to celebrate the coming-of-age of thendaughter Ellen Florence, Among the guests was Mrs P. Rowley, of Mill Road, Whangarei, the guest of honour’s grandmother. Under the guidance of the M.C., Mr A. Frood, dancing was indulged in to music supplied by Mrs E. M. Clark, and Messrs. W. Thomassen and A. Thomassen. Mrs C. A. Reed and Mrs L. Drake played extras, while Mrs Reed rendered solos. Misses Gladys and Lilian Drake entertained with pianoforte duets. The Monte Carlo was won by Mrs E. R. Finlayson and Mr R. D. Finlayson. The guest of honour was the recipient of numerous beautiful gifts. Among those present were Mesdames R.
