Trade Treaty Offer Fails
(Received 10 a.m/) WASHINGTON. July 28. It is announced that Germany offered to negotiate a trade treaty with the United States, but has been refused. The offer would have guaranteed the United States exports to Germany* worth 225,000,000 dollars, as compared with 125.000.000 dollars' worth last year. The State Department indicated that the proposal did not conform in some respects to the basic requirement of the “most favoured nations” clause.
