A double feature programme that will appeal to all picture-goers is on the screen at the Plaza. "The Crime of Dr. H,allet'’ a fascinating drama of the medical world, arrests and holds attention from the moment. Dr. Hallet is seen fighting a tragic misunderstanding ui his Sumatran jungle laboratory. The theme concerns a battle of elemental love and hale, with men and women aroused to primal emotion at fever heat, against a background of heroic martyrdom to science. Hallet goes to Sumatra to find a fever cure, and falls in love with his woman assistant. Dr. Reynolds. When another assistant. Dr. Saunders., dies, through an imperfect experiment. Hallet takes his name to carry on hi? work. A tense situation develops when Saunders' wife arrives and threatens exposure and an amazing climax results'. Ralph Bellamy plays an outstanding part as Dr. Halid, while William Cargo n. Josephine Hutchinson, Barbara t’b id and John King make up an excellent cast. 'Forbidden V.tiiiw.' .-tarring Noah Beery and Francos Robinson Rased on a novel by Smart Hardy, this, picture is full of anion .and thrills from the start.
