Reclamation Sections Cheaper

Easier conditions are to bo provided by the Whangarei Harbour Board for the leasing of its five sections cn the Kaituna Reclamation area. At the board's meeting yesterday, the chairman, Mr J. A, Finlayson, sought the rescinding of a previous resolution fixing the terms of lease of the sections. However, ii, was now thought that it. would be better bavins' the area occupied than lying idle, ho said, and for this reason the previous conditions would have to be waived. He maintained that nobody would pay the amount specified previously. Supporting the suggestion, Mr K. M. Stevens declared that it would be better for the board in the long run to have the sections occupied, even if they did not produce revenue, than that they should remain as at present. Other members hold this view, and the rescinding motion was carried without dissent.

Grace Hutton. Kara Redmond, who- is new to this position, and Evelyn Johnson. played an excellent game, while in the centre. Mrs Manning played well, considering that this is not her usual position. The defence played a good opposing- game. Kauri’s shooting was accurate, but they found the defence a little too strong. Although combination was excellent, there was a little too much backward passing on the part of the losers. Playing one short in goal. Y.W.C.A. A secured a good win from Lupton A by 20 goals to five. The winners’ centre. Audrey Stedman. dominated her section of the field, and although Lupton's passing was superior, they could not get the ball past her. Credit is due to Y.W.'s two goalies. Mrs Tapper and Rcoie Graham, for their performance. C Grade Players. In the C grade. Whakapara beat School C 9 --6. Whakapava's goalshcoting was superior, hut School had it all over them in passing. The Whakapara girls have not yet rectified their habit of giving passes which are far too long.
