* A donation of £SO is to be made g ■ by the Whangarei Racing Club to J l the Tikipunga Orphanage Fund. » i “The orphanage is one of the J J finest things we could possibly I * have in the district,” declared the g i president, Mr R. G. Hosking, at J ■ the club’s annual meeting last J J night, when suggesting that the g * club donate £SO to the fund. “It | g must be a terrible thing for child- J J ren to have to start off life with- i ? out the guidance of mother and g J father. There is not one of us who * * would not help an orphan or any i 1 other child, and I feel that our | [ club should help the move to es- J j tablish an orphanage, 1 2 “If it is necessary to have more * J funds later, I am sure our club * l would be proud to make further i I donations. We should do all we J J can to ensure that the building, ■ ■ when erected, will be one of i 1 pride to this district.” g j When the sugg|stion to donate J 2 £SO was put to the vote, the i I members unanimously supported g I it with acclamation. 8
