Soviet - Manchukuo Troops Clash
(Received 2.30 p.m.) TOKIO, July 27. The Foreign Office reveals that the Soviet and Manchukuo troops met in a clash on July 22 on the banks of the Ussuri River, to the south of Haborvsk. It is alleged that Soviet gunboats fired on Manchuko troops travelling downstream to Joaho. Soviet troops then crossed the river to Manchukuo territory, and tired on villages, withdrawing after a fivehour engagement with Manchukuo j troops, who protested to the Soviet, j Russian troops are still occupying Changkufcng, and their dislodgment 1 is not attempted.
