New Zealand’s Advancement
[Special to “Northern Advocate.“l WELLINGTON, This Day. The appointment of a High Commissioner to New Zealand was referred to by the Prime Minister, Mr M. J. Savage today, who said that New Zealand would now be in the same position as Australia, Canada, and South Africa. The appointment was made by the British Government, with the concurrence of New Zealand, the question having been discussed when he, Mr Savage was in England. He anticipated that Sir Harry Batterboe would arrive about the end of the year. He would represent the British Government directly in all negotiations with the New Zealand Government.
