Nationality Status
(Received 2 p.m.) LONDON, July 27. The Czechoslovakian nationality statute, says a message from Prague, provides that there shall be no discrimination on the ground of language, race or religion. A citizen’s nationality shall be determined by the person’s mother tongue, but, after 18 years of age, he can freely choose 'any nationality whose language he speaks fluently. Election to Parliament and to local councils will be darned out on the basis of proportionality. Civil servants will be chosen from the various races in accordance with percentage of each race to the total population, and on this basis, also, the allocation of public funds and State contracts will be determined. Schools will be granted full selfdetermination. Penalties, including denationalisation, are provided for the persecution of citizens on account of race, religion or political opinion.
