Kaitaia Rifle Club Range
[Special to ‘’Northern Advocate .”l KAITAIA, This Day. Mr J. T. B. Taaffe, chairman of the Kaitaia Town Board, officially opened the rifle range of the recently formed Kaitaia Defence Rifle Club. More than 50 local and visiting riflemen took part in the day’s shooting, which produced some good scores. With an initial active membership of over 50, and a 900 yards range which is probably equal to any in the country, the club should be assured of a bright future. The cup for the highest aggregate for the day was won by B. Seymour, of the Unutoke Rifle Club, after a shoot-off with G. Atkins, of the same club. The ladies’ prize was won by Miss J. B. Yendell. Tiie teams’ aggregates were as follows; —Unutoke Rifle Club, 474; Kaitaia Rifle Club, 459; Omana Rifle Club, 444.
