Mangonui Primary School Sports
The seven-a-side inter-group football competition of the Mangonui County was held at Kaitaia on Friday. Teams competed from all parts of the county, from Te Kao to Mangonui. Results:— First round.—Ahipara B 9. Awanui 0; Kaingaroa 6, Herekino 0; Whangape won by default from Peria. Second round. —Ahipara B 6, Kaingarca 3; Ahipara A G, Whangape 3; Te Kao 3, Mangonui 3: Takahue 3. Ahipara A 0. Semi-final. —Ahipara B 11, Takahue 0. Final. —Ahipara B 9, Te Kao 0. Team for Whangarei. At the conclusion of the seven-a-side games, a Possibles v. Probables rep. trial was held, and the following players were chosen to represent the Mangonui County at Whangarei in the first week of the August holidays:—Backs: Kerchoma (Ahipara), Jones, Johnston (Awanui), Wells (Te Kao), Goodhugh (Kaitaia), Baker (Herekino). Wallace (Kaingaroa), Murray (Whangape), Hobson (Paparoa). Forwards: Oosson (Kaingaroa). Luckie (Te Kao). Grbich (Awanui), Berghan, Matthews (Ahipara). Heller (Whangape), Bust, Pivac (Kaitaia), Rogers (Pukepoto).
