This match will not bo for the Powell Cup, as Rodney are the holders of this trophy. The Hannam Shield, of which the Whangarei ladies’ learn are the holders, will probably be played for against a Rodney ladies’ team at Whangarei on August 13. but although Whangarei have offered this date a reply ha:? not so far bean received from Rodney Use of Rugby Park. ♦ The Whangarei Rugby Union have offered Hie use of Rugby Park to the Hockey Association for the Indian match on Wednesday, August 17, and this offer has been accepted by the association as. Kensington Park, the grounds used by the association for the club competitions is not so suitable for big matches as is Rugby Park. The Union have given the association permission to prepare the ground as is desired for' hockey, and the Union have also undertaken not to play on No. 1 ground on the week prior to the Indian mrjtch. Although it was expeoted that the Whangarei representative team to play the Indians would be announced before this, the selectors have not yet announced their team but this will be done by the end of the week.
