Protection of Women And Children
[Special to* “Northern Advocate.”', AUCKLAND. This Day. Matters in which the society thought some reform was badly needed were brought to the attention of the Minister of Justice, the Hon. H. G. R. Mason, this morning, by the Society for the Protection of Women and Children. 'These matters were the sentences imposed on men convicted of offences against children, which the society considered were too light, and accommodation and conditions in the Supreme Court. The deputation which waited on the minister at the Auckland Transport Board’s Office, comprised the president of the society. Mr. J. Donaldson, vicepresident, the Hon. Bernard Martin, and Mr. J. B. Donald, the society’s inspector. the Hon. Mrs. N. M. Molesworth. and the secretary. Mrs. A. M. Hutchinson. The Minister said that some of the matters referred to were outside his province. However, he would forward i the deputation's representations to the correct quarter.
