LONDfON, July 25, The appointment of the Rev. Henry Kingsley Archdall, formerly of Auckland, as principal of St. David’s College, Wales, has disappointed certain Welsh circles, says the correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” at Pwllheli, Carnavonshire. The national union of Welsh societies recently appealed for the appointment of a Welshman to the post. The president of the union, Alderman William George, brother of Mr Lloyd George, regrets that a principal, however brilliant, lacking a knowledge of Welsh cannot greatly help the church in the Welsh language and culture.
