Whangarei Post Office Additions To Cost £16,000
[Special to “Northern Advocate.”] WELLLINGTON, This Day. The estimated cost of additions to the Whangarei Post Office to fit it to Chief Post Office status is £16,000, towards which an item of £2OOO is shown on this year’s P.W.D. estimates. For a line store and garage there is provision of £2200 which, with £2OO expended last year, will complete the work. The actual cost of acquiring the additional land for post office purposes, including the old county council buildings, was £7232, which was financed last year. Actual expenditure for new post offices completed last year was: Kamo, £3005; Kerikeri, Central, building and site £2626.
