Woman Found Guilty On Serious Charge
[Special to “Northern Advocate.”] AUCKLAND, This Day. A married woman, Margaret Munro, aged 35, stood trial before Mr Justice Fair in the Supreme Court yesterday, charged with the unlawful use of an instrument. The offence was alleged to have taken place on January 22 at Auckland. The case was set down for hearing in May, but, owing to the illness of the principal Crown witness, it was postponed until the present sessions. The Crown Prosecutor, Mr V. R. Meredith, conducted the prosecution, and Mr Aekins appeared for the defence. After the taking of evidence yesterday morning, the jury retired just before the luncheon interval, and returned a quarter of an hour after to present a verdict of guilty. His Honour remanded accused for sentence today, expressing the intention to obtain a report upon her in the j meantime. Sobbing, she was support- | ed from the dock to the cells below. !
