Terminating the sorting of mails on Pacific liners, the Post and Telegraph Department today brought ashore its agent and his assistant on the Niagara and dismantled sorting cases and mail bag hoppers. In future, the greater proportion of New Zealand mail will be diverted to the new Empire air service, via Australia. The Niagara’s mail on this trip was a record for the vessel.
