Change Reasonably Steady
[Special to “Northern AdvOc tr-?.”] AUCKLAND. This Day. The market tone seemed reasonably cheerful when the Stock Exchange commenced a fresh week. A good list of sales was recorded at the first call, and fresh bidding was fairly steady. Taranaki Oils came in for more attention, and after buyers had moved up to 13/9. sellers stepped at 13/11. In the banking section. Nationals improved slightly with buyers back to 53/6 and sellers steady at 55/. Insurances showed little change, and a parcel of Standards were offered at 57/. Australian issues opened with a steady market, and little change in quotations. Glass, Dunlops and Mort’e Docks all sold at late rates, and Colonial Sugars were in demand at £47, with no sellers. The inquiry for Government stocks was not keen, but values were steady. Sales completed at the noon call today included:—N.Z. Insurance, £2 16s 9d: Broken Hill Pty.. £3 Is 3d; Electrolytic Zincs. £2 3s Kid and £2 4s 3d: Mt. Lyells. £1 9s
