Franco Claims Successes
(Received 2 p.m.) SARAGOSA, July 24. General Franco claims that his Extremadura offensive was successful, resulting in the capture of Castuera and many prisoners. A Burgos message states that the Rebels also claim to have captured the villages of Medellin, Esparragosa, Quintana, Lasarena and Hiquera. After a terrific artillery bombardment, the Spanish Insurgents, advancing on two fronts, crossed the boundary of the Valencia province, says a message from Salamanca. They report severe losses by the Loyalists.
