Ruawai Dairy Company
[Special to “Northern Advocate.”] DARGAVILE, This Day. The company had a successful year, although the past season had not been a very favourable one, said Mr. J. Irwin, chairman of directors of the * Ruawai Co-op Dairy Co Ltd., at the annual meeting of shareholders. Its costs of production and final payment compared favourably with those of other companies in the north. Facial Eczema Loses. So considerable had been the losses from facial eczema that the question would have to be taken into consideration by the Government, Grading results had been good up to the end of December, but afterwards the quality of the cream was affected. The position was investigated by the manager, Mr. E. Hames, who sought the Sid of the Government Research Department. The factory had been checked up and was found quite satisfactory. There was no doubt that the decline in quality was attributable to the diseases and also to mastitis. Improvements which had been carried out at the factory would, Mr. Irwin hoped, result in a reduction in costs and an improvement in the quality of the companies product. With the Government’s bonus, the total payment for the season would amount to 14.75 d per lb. The bonus would be paid out on August 20. The directors’ report and balance sheet were adopted.
