The distinguished English doctor, Sir Bruce Bruce-Porter, will leave for Canada on July 23, in the course of a world tour. He will arrive at Sydney on October 22, and will visit New Zealand next March. Mrs Sarah Tunnicliffe, an old resident of Feilding, celebrated her 94th birthday on Thursday. She received many congratulatory messages. Mrs Tunnicliffe was box-n at Nelson in 1844. Her husband died five years ago, at the age of 94. In 1930, Mr and Mrs Tunnicliffe celebrated the 65th anniversary of their wedding. Mr. Alexander Copeland, a young married man, of Onerahi, received a painful injury to his left thumb yesterday afternoon. He was admitted to the Whangarei Public Hospital, where an operation was performed this morning. His condition is satisfactory.
