Whangarei Plunket Society
The monthly meeting of the Whangarei branch of the Plunket Society was held in the Mayor's room on Tuesday, July 19. Those present were Mesdames Thorne cin chair), Christiansen, Surman, Cummings. E. W. Thomson, Stevenson, and Goodwin. Apologies were received from Mesdames Jones, Hart and D. J. Thomson. Nurse Thomas’ report for June was as follows: —New cases: Adults 18, babfes 16; visits to homes, headquarters. 136; out-stations, 5; visits to office, headquarters, 445; out-stations. 183. The following places were visited; Kawakawa. Kamo, Pipiwai, Waipu. Oakleigh. Maungakaramea (once each), and Hikurangi (twice). Nurse Thomas reports that measles have been, and still are, prevalent both in town and all country districts.
