County Seeks Bush Preservation
i Consideration is being given by the Minister of Lands to a request from the Mangonui County Council for the preservation of bush in the Takahue Land and Survey District. At Wednesday’s meeting of the council, Cr. F. Holder stated that Mr Armit. of the Lands and Survey Department, had inspected the area. He thought it was wrong to destroy the bush, but he understood the felling of trees was to commence almost immediately. The matter was one for the State Advances Corporation rather than the Crown Lands Department. The removal of bush would not be an economical proposition, he said. i
