Blind Institute Appeal Rejected
Appeals for assistance from the Jubilee Institute for the Blind and from the New Zealand Spanish Medical Aid Committee met with a cold reception from the suppliers of the Maungaturoto Dairy Company at their annual meeting on Wednesday. The Blind Institute asked for a donation on the basis of If- per supplier, while the Spanish Aid Committee asked for the donation of a box of butter, which would be forwarded to its destination per medium of the Now Zealand Government. After a short discussion, both appeals were refused, suppliers being of the opinion that to comply would set a bad precedent, as there would be a danger of such appeals becoming annual affairs.
