Mrs Popiewell
OBITUARY
Born at Castle, on the Isle of Skye, Scotland, in the year 1864, the late Mrs Popplewell same to New Zealand with her parents, Mr and Mrs Murdoch Kerr, in the emigrant ship Jessie Osburn, in 1875. j After landing lat Timaru, Mrs Popplewell spent her early years at Burke’s Pass, South Canterbury, At the age of 25 she married Mr A. C. Popplewell, of Lyttelton. After a few years they came to the North Island, living in several different localities. After spending 25 years in the Pukepoto and Parapara districts they settled at Aurere* where Mrs Popplewell had resided for the last seven years. The late Mrs Popplewell was of la very kindly and retiring disposition, being held in high esteem by a wide circle of friends. Her husband and two daughters, Miss Cecilia Poppelwell and Mrs G. H, Matthews, both of Aurere, are left to mourn her death.
