Big Slip In Local Quarry
Loosened by continuous heavy rain on Wednesday nigh!, several thousand tons of rubble and light rod: slipped down ihe I'aee of Waldron’s Quarry, situated at the end of TJusl Lane extension. Throughput the morning a gang of men was engaged clearing the slip, but. owing to .ho light nature of the top-soil, material is still slipping down, and it will be some time before normal activities are resumed. Extending over a 50-yard face, the slip may inconvenience several contractors who are depending on supplies of rock from the quarry for the numerous construction works being undertaken in the district. This slip is the seconcj experienced at the quarry in fhe past few months. •—r ———
