Kamo And Waipu Schools

[Special to “Northern Advocate.”} AUCKLAND, Wednesday. The consolidation of schools at Waipu will involve the closing of four schools and the partial depletion of the roll of a fifth school. Writing to the Auckland Education Board today, the Department of Education authorised a grant for an open-air block of four rooms, with necessary out-office accommodation. The consolidated school will be acmodated at Waipu Central, and the schools to be closed will be Waipu North, Waipu Upper, Waipu Cove, and Mata, while those pupils from Ruakaka, who 'are prepared to come will be accommodated. The Minister also notified approval of a grant to erect a two-roomed detached open-air building as addition- j al accommodataion at the Kamo School, in view of the proposed consolidation of the Ruatangata West, Matarau Road, and Ngararatunua schools at Kamo.
