Unabated In Northland
There is as yet no sign of the measles epidemic in Whangarei and district abating, the District Medical Officer of Health, Dr. C. B. Gilberd, reported to a “Northern Advocate” representative this morning. Although only of a mild form, fresh cases are continually occurring. The visitation is, however, diminishing in severity further north. One Death at Dargaville. The outbreak has reached epidemic proportions at Dargaville, and, although mostly in a mild form, there are a few severe cases in the Northern Wairoa district. One death occurred during the past week. The disease is prevalent, but mild, in Kaikohe, Ohaeawai and other Bay of Islands areas, but is not evident at all In Whangaroa county. Mild cases only are occurring in North Hokianga. according to advice received by the medical officer from Broadwood.
There is only a mild case at Houhora, and no cases at all at Hapua. A few scattered mild cases are evident at Kaitaia, with one or two more severe attacks.
