Springfield And United Draw

Without the services of its winger. Eon Graham. Springfield, playing one man short, fought out a drawn game with United in the Men’s A competition.

It was an even game from the outt set, both sides getting a fair share of the ball. By half-time, neither team had obtained an advantage.

The same hard play characterise'’ the second half. There was some excitement when the United goalie committed a broach and had a penally bully awarded against his side. For Springfield, this was taken by K. Carter. United, however, got the ball clear of the circle. For United, Fyfe snicked in a nice one, and shortly afterwards J. Palmer netted for Springfield. At one stage, United’s goalie ran out to a ball, which he missed and was out of position while Springfield hammered hard. The position could not be improved, however, and the fin'al whistle blew to a one—all draw. Umpires were Messrs P. Whittle and P. Campbell.
