Guaranteed Price Advisory Board: Industry’s Representatives
WELLINGTON, This: Day. In accordance with the undertaking given on Thursday, representatives of the dairy industry waited on the Minister of Finance, the Hon. W. Nash, and advised him of the names of the 'three men they had selected to represent the industry on the Guaranteed ‘'Price Advisory Tribunal, which is to take evidence and make recommendations to the Government as to the guaranteed price for the coming season. The nominees are:— Mr C. P. Agar, Christchurch. Mr W. Marshall, Paeroa. Professor A. H. Tocker, Christchurch. tr When seen yesterday afternoon, Mr Nash was not in a position to say who the Government’s nominees on the tri- • bunal would be, but he indicated that ;an official announcement was imminent. h Mr Agar is managing-director of the Tai Tapu Co-operative Dairy Company. Ltd., Christchurch, and has been associated with the dairy industry for over 25 years. Mr W. Marshall is the present mayor of Paeroa, and is also acting-chairman of the New Zealand Co-operative •Dairy Company. Professor Tocker has been Professor of Economics at the Canterbury UnitVersity College since 1926.
