Hunter— Armstrong
A quiet, but pre,lty wedding took place at Christ Church. Whangarel, on June 29, when Mary Kathleen, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs E. M. Armstrong, of Maungatapere, was married to Staveley, younger son of Mr aiid Mrs W. Hunter, of Cross Street Whangarei. The Rev. H. T, Steele officiated with Mr Woods at the organ. The bride, who entered the church on tlie arm of her father, looked charming in a beautiful gown of magnolia lace, over an underskirt of sunray pleated satin. The bodice had a pointed corsage finished with looped buttons, the neckline featuring a high satin collar. The long tight sleeves, which were niched at the shoulder, ended in a point, and fastened with tiny buttons. The skirt was fashioned to form a long oval train over which fell an embroidered tulle veil, held in place with a high halo of orange blossom. The bride carried a shower bouquet, of cream roses and maidenhair fern. In attendance as bridesmaids were Miss Joy Armstrong, the bride's sister, and Miss Lesley Murdoch, who wore lovely frocks of coral blush tulle, over the same shade of taffetas. The bodices wore styled alike, off the .'boulders with a frill across the front finished with n posy, four small buttons down the hack and very high puff sleeves. The bouffant; skirts, on which were scattered posies of rose pink and deep mauve flowers, wore open at the front. 'Hie waist was finished with a stiffened corsage and buttoned front. They carried shower bouquets ol pink and mauve flowers, with mauve ribbons. Mr Arnold Trigg carried out the duties of best man and Mr Jack Armstrong acted as groomsman. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of Mr and Mrs Hunter, Cross Street. Mrs Armstrong, who received the guests, wore a smart navy costume and hat. and carried a bouquet of cyclamen. Mr? Hunter wore a wine trod: with hat and tur to match. She carried a bouquet nl jonquils and irises, flie bride travelled in a navy tail--01 ed costume with hat and accessories to match.
