A.A. Posts Missing From Ruakaka
What appears to be a deliberate act of vandalism or theft is reported from the Ruakaka Domain. Some time ago Automobile Association sign-posts were set up across the tidal creek for the benefit of motorists. A few days ago an inspection ot the site revealed that two of the pests had disappeared. Any possibility that the tide had washed the posts away seems ruled out, as the posts wore sunk in a considerable distance with a heavy maul. Owing to the dangerous nature of the soft sand across the creek bed at both high and low' tides, a special course has been marked cut for motorists to follow. Without directions,, any motorist unused to the locality would easily find himself bogged in the soft sand, which, although appearing to have a hard surface, is unreliable for heavy traffic. About four years ago an expensive pump was reported missing from the domain, and no trace of it has since been nvuiied.
