WEDDINGS
On Tuesday, June 28. the wedding was solemnised at Ihe Presbyterian Church, Whangarei, of Melba, eldest daughter of Mrs Ross and the late Mr Donald Ross, of Taraunui, Parua Bay. to William Herbert, the oldest son of Mr and Mrs T. H. Freer, Owhiwa. Parua Bay. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. R. C. Lamb, and the wedding music was played by Mr H. Presswood. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her brother, Mr M. Ross, wore a charming frock of ivory
velvet. The bodice was fashioned with long fitting sleeves to the wrist where they ended in a peak over the hand, the 'fitting skirt forming a graceful train. The beautiful tulle veil was held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a sheath of arum lilies. The bridesmaid was Miss Peggy Ross, sister of the bride, who wore a pretty pink frock of suede embossed cloque, her bouquet being of pink roses. The best man was Mr Cyril Thorne. Following the ceremony many friends and relatives of the bride and bridegroom were entertained at a dance in the Parua Bay Hall.
