Miniature Rifle Shooting
M. Stewart won from M. Hore in the shoot-off for the .1. Norris trophy, and the Tisdall Handicap button went to R. Massey at last night’s shoot of the Whangarei Miniature Rifle Club. A commencement was made with the F. H. Cowan trophy, and further rounds shot for the J. S, Woolley and Bargain Stores trophies. Highest scores were:—R. Massey, 93—7—100; Mrs R. Lynch, 92—8—100; J Pattison, 91—9—100; D. McGahey, 89—10—99; M. Stewart, 97—1—98; R. Lynch, 96—2—98; L. Holmes, 94—2—96; J Roberts, 91—5—96; A. Rolfe-Smith, 83—8—91; H. Ross, 81—9—90.
The House of Representatives adjourned yesterday afternoon as a mark of respect to the late Hon. H. A. Russell, to whoso life and work eloquent tributes were paid.
