Trawling Strike Continues
IPer Press Association. Copyright ] WELLINGTON, This Day. The trawlers Futurist and Niven are still held up at Wellington on account of the dispute between the crews and the owners, New Zealand Fisheries, Ltd. The owners, however, have agreed to meet representatives of the New Zealand Seamen's Union on Monday, to see whether it is possible to reach a settlement. In the meantime, there is a definite shortage of fresh fish in Wellington, and it was stated that if the dispute were not settled, a number of men in other departments of the company might be affected. The firemen of the trawlers are demanding an additional blanket, teatowels, one cake of coap each a week, sheets and a tablecloth.
