f Special to “Northern Advocate.'’] AUCKLAND. This Day. Bidding was quiet on ’Change this morning, but yesterday’s easier tendency was checked. Most Australian industrials wore steady or slightly firmer. ' *■' Broken Hill Proprietary were quoted 3d higher, between £2/19/3 and £3, while buyers for* Colonial Sugar moved up again to £46/5/-. Dunlops also had bettor buyers at £l/2/-. sellers raising their limits to £ 1/2/7. Among metal company issues. Electrolytic Zincs and Mt. Morgans had a steady market, and Mt. Lyells looked a shade stronger, closing between £l/7/9 and £l/8/9. There was less interest in banks. Nationals and New South Wales having no buying offers, while New Zealands lost 2d of their recent rise. National Insurances were firmer, between 17/6 and 17/8. Buyer’s for both Wool worths (New Zealand), 'at £l/0/4, and Sydney, at £l/2/-, improved on late quotations. G. J. Coles, however, eased further, finishing with a market from £4 to £4/2/-. Several local securities were higher. Farmers’ Fertilisers having better buyers at 19/9. and Taranaki Oils holding yesterday’s improvement. Argo Dredging sold at a slight rise. Government stocks showed little change.
