(Received 2 p.m.) LONDON, July 13. The Players’ innings in the Gentlemen v. Players opened disastrously, K. Fames, the fast bowler, getting the wickets of Edrich and Price for no runs. The Gentlemen’s first innings closed at 411 runs (Gibb 18. Wyatt 4, Hammond 46, Yardley 88, Moore 24. Bartlett 175 not out, Brown 23). Pollard took three wickets for 60 runs and P. Smith 4 for 140.
