Waikiekie maintained their impressive record in the junior championship, defeating Old Boys C—o in the curtain-raiser at Rugby Park. Russek. playing a magnificent game, scored

both tries, the first through determined following up, and the second when he warded off two opponents to bullock his way over. Old Boys were outweighed, and attempted to handle too much, although they went close to scoring on a couple of occasions. It was not until the last few minutes that High School’s slight back superiority over Hikurangi yielded results. Izod paved the way for the only score in a most evenly contested game, cutting out three opponents and giving Jufton an almost unchallenged run in. Handling with surprising accuracy considering the greasy ball, City juniors scored four tries —Lorrimer, N. Ross, Reef and C. Barber—to defeat Kamo 0. Half-way through Kamo lest one of their best players, Raise, through a leg injury. The best try of the day was the back movement finished by Lorrimer, who beat three opponents to get over. Onerahi continued their winning way, downing Hora Hora 14—3. A. Joass, T. Boys, Bowman and W. | Whimp were the try-getters, while j Joass added to his long list of conversions.
