Appearing for the first time in six years, Towafs senior B representatives were only narrowly defeated by Pipiwai, the final score reading 11—8. Pipiwai’s combination was too good for Towai, and their backs had the newcomers in a quandary. However. the defence was good, and, considering the length of time Towai has boon disbanded, the team put up a geed fight. Pipi.wai’s points came from tries by Herewene, J. Shortland and T. Shortland, Moore converting one. Towai’s •points were made up of a penalty kick by Thomassen and a penalty try awarded to Keogh following obstruction by Pipiwai men. This try was converted by Thomassen.
