(Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, June 10. The feature of the series of county cricket games which began on Wednesday was centuries by K. G. James, the former New Zealand 1927 and 1931 wicketkeeper on English tours, and L. F. Townsend, in the Northants-Derby engagement at Northampton. Scores and principal performances:

Middlesex: First innings 311 (Hart 77); second, 296. Hampshire: First innings 245 (C. I. J. Smith six for 78); second 209 (Robins seven for 77). Middlesex won by 153 runs. Kent: First innings 400 (Fagg 125, Woolley 78); second 182 (Phillipson five for 59). Lancashire: First innings 317 (Hopwood 141); second eight wickets for 266. Lancashire won by two wickets.

Leicestershire: First innings 134 (E. Davies five for 40); second seven wickets for 320, declared (Tomkins 91). Glamorgan: First innings 182, second five wickets for 179. Glamorgan won on the first innings.

Derbyshire: First innings 151 (Robinson five for 37); second seven wickets for 288, declared (Townsend 103). Northants: First innings 76 (Copson five for 26); second 269 (James 105 not out). Derby won by 94 runs. Sussex: First innings 362 (Oakes 111); second 80 (Cover six for 41). Surrey: First innings 438 (Barling 82); second none for 8. Surrey won by ten wickets.

Yorkshire: First innings 415 (Sutcliffe 142. Sellars 80 not out; Mayer seven for 75). Warwickshire: First innings 41 (Bowes five for 14); followon, 232 (Robinson five for 65). Yorkshire won by an innings and 142 runs. Notts: First innings 409 (Knowles 114, Heane 126); second five wickets for 174, declared. Worcestershire: First innings 366; second one wicket for 12. Notts won on the first innings.
