Drunken Motorist Sent to Gaol
[Per Press Association —Copy riqhT.l CHRISTCHURCH. This Day. •'T cannot display any leniency, and this and other courts will not tolerate any leniency where drunken individuals are in charge of such dangerous machines as motor cars. Accused was in court in 1934 for intoxication in charge, and again in 1936 for a similar offence. On the last occasion ho was sentenced to imprisonment. On this occasion he will be sent to gaol for three months, with hard labour, and his license will be cancelled for five years." This judgment was delivered by Mr E. C. Levvey. S.M, yesterday, when Robert Franklin Dobson, aged 2f>, appeared for sentence on a charge of being intoxicated in charge of a car.
