Women Protest Against Rising Costs

The inter-provincial conference of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union carried the following remits;— “That a strong protest be made to the Government against the increasing cost of household goods, and that the ,tax of id bn sugar, imposed as a temporary measure in 1931, be removed; that the wages tax on women be removed; and that the nationalisation of the medical profession would not be in the best interests of the health of The people.”
