Last Over Win By One Run
In the second round of the North Hokianga Cricket Shield competitions, the Orawau Club visited Broadwood and secured a twopointer by the narrowest of margins, winning by one run, with the last man in and only one ball to go for time. Rain interrupted! the game twice, and made things slippery for the Broadwood fielding side. Broadwood made 85 (Scott 21. N. Ferguson 18, B. Ferguson 16' not out; Robertson took 6 for 35. Walker 3 for 20, Woolford 1 for 21), and Orawau replied with 86 (Robertson 38. McKay 16, Body 10; Scott took 8 for 35). Kohukohu scored a four-point win against Broadwood. How They Stand. Shield points to date are: Orawau 8. Broadwood 0. Kohukohu 8, Omahuta 2, with Orawau and Omahuta to play a game to complete the second round.
